BACTERIA
[@OMG FACTS #12]

Although scientists have known for many years that animals are a source of bacteria that live primarily in the gut, intestine, mouth and skin. Bacteria have been on the planet for over 3.5 billion years. Bacteria was first discovered in 1674.

Strange but true? After 14-days of use, a jean will have 1,000 bacteria in the front, 1,500-2,500 in the back and 10,000 in the waist.

Bacteria can cause diarrhea, fever, vomiting, nausea and stomach pain. The bacterial cell walls are similar to those of plants and fungi, which consist of cellulose.

Bacteria form colonies that can consist of several hundred or thousands of cells and are visible to the naked eye when grown in the laboratory.

If you have good bacteria in your body, bad bacteria have no chance of growing and causing disease. There are drugs that can kill bacteria, called antibiotics. If you take antibiotics frequently, the bacteria may become resistant.
