On this day, 

1️⃣ Kajari Teej: The festival of Teej is celebrated among all women and girls all over North India. This festival is particularly celebrated in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. On this day women worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for the long and healthy life of their life partner. 

Three kinds of Teej:

Hariyali Teej: The first Teej of the year which falls in the month of Sharvana (July-August).

Kajari Teej: It is celebrated 15 days after the Hariyali Teej, three days after the Raksha Bandhan and five days before Krishna Janmashtami.

Hartalika Teej: It comes one month after Hariyali Teej and more often celebrated one day before Ganesh Chaturthi.


  1. Married women should not wear white clothes on the day of Kajri Teej

  2. On this day, women should do full adornment

  3. Women should not take food and water on this day

  4. Avoid arguments with your husband

  5. Women should apply colors on their hands

  6. Wear bangles on in hands


2️⃣ Hiroshima Day: The anniversary of the day when US dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima, Japan, during World War II.


On August 6, 1945, five-ton bomb was released over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. That blast was so massive where 100,000 + people were killed on the spot; three days later, on Aug 9th, another bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. This is the first time when a nuclear bomb is taken in use.

Ways to Observe:

  2. Read a book about Hiroshima

  3. Spread awareness about threats of nuclear weapons

  4. Watch documentary

  5. Work with NGO to get rid of weapons around the world.


3️⃣ National Fresh Breath Day: Aug 6th is a day to remind you to the importance of oral hygiene. Having a fresh breath can tell a lot about your personality. Fresh breath is a sign that your body is healthy.


In particular the origin is unknown but the use of mouth fresheners are back since 2700 BC.

Ways to celebrate:

  1. Best day to tell the other person that they have bad breath.

  2. Two minutes of brushing every morning and in the night can lead to fresh breath.

  3. Start using tongue scraper

  4. Buy some mints and mouth fresher.

  5. Quit smoking
